Where it all started
Maddie has been dancing and singing from a very young age. She has always had a heart for performing. As dance runs in her family, she was put into dance class as soon as she was old enough. From her very first recital, Maddie knew she was destined to perform. She began her dance career in a very small recreational after school group where rehearsals and classes were held on a school cafeteria stage. At the age of eight, she transitioned to a bigger studio to further her training. This is where her journey at Red Door Dance Academy began. Here she was able to hone her technique as she was a part of the studio and competition team for almost ten years! She was able to grow herself as a dancer, teacher, and performer, allowing her to continue to pursue her dream at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University. Maddie will graduate in Spring 2025 with Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance.
The Heart of a Performer
Maddie has had the opportunity to perform in several of the Star Dance Company’s Productions such as “MOVE!”,“Holiday Spectacular”, and the Student Choreography Show “We’re Back Again” at the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. She also had the pleasure of holding the role of line captain, allowing her to utilize her strong leadership and communication skills. Maddie always loves getting to perform on the Kirkpatrick stage with her OCU Dance family!
Health and Wellness
Maddie has a passion for nutrition and fitness. Throughout her college career, she has taken several courses to further her education in this field as she believes it is so important to take of care of one’s well being, especially as a performer. In her free time, she loves going to the gym, taking workout classes, cooking healthy meals, and stretching/meditating.
What’s Next…
Maddie will be spending her Summer training at Steps on Broadway for their Theatre/Jazz Summer Study. She is so excited to further her training in the city she aspires to live in someday.
She also has a contract to work for the Joffrey Ballet School in Las Vegas. She cannot wait to explore the city, while making connections and furthering her skillset not only in the performance field, but the arts management side as well.
Along with performing, Maddie has a passion for teaching and choreographing. She is excited to announce that she was selected to be a choreographer in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment’s Student Choreography Show in the Fall of 2024.
